Program Description

Event Details

In The Puppets of Spelhorst, five puppets—a king, a wolf, a girl, a boy, and an owl—dream of song and light, freedom and flight, purpose and glory. But they are only simple puppets. What can a puppet do without a helping hand? Go on an adventure? Certainly not--they're only puppets. But when fate lays a hand upon their lives, the puppets are launched into a grand story.

Before attending: create your own puppet and get ready to tell your own story! Each copy available at the South Branch Library comes with a blank hand puppet for you to take home, design, and decorate. Make your own king, wolf, girl, clown, grizzly bear, chef, talking clock, or whatever you can imagine.

Then, readers should bring their puppets with them to book club on February 6. Readers will play games, become puppeteers, and tell their own stories with guidance from library staff.

Visit the South Branch Library to pick up your book, register, and ask questions.
